Stick Time, Great Friends, and Stress Relief

Here’s Josh with his new hockey helmet and stick from Connie, Fred, and Scott. He loves it! We are just back from a terrific meal at Mandarin Cafe (Veterans Pkwy, Columbus, Ga.) where they gave us wonderful gifts! I got precious little scented pillows that can be heated for stress relief. Hmm… maybe I should take them to the salon with me next time I go to get my hair colored! They also gave us six flex tickets for the hockey games!! Woo hoo!!! Yippee!

Remington Takes Up Quilting!

Just couldn’t resist posting this picture! Remington curled up on the loveseat just under my little quilting project which will eventually be one side to a nice tea cosy. This square was a start to a quilt but I decided to abandon the project for the lack of a quilting table. These squares come in handy for making pillows, tea cosies, and whatnot. Guess I had better get back in the kitchen to clean up from brunch (omelettes with cheddar cheese, bacon, garlic, onion, and baby bellas). Bread is rising on the counter and there is a nice yeasty scent in the air.
Oh yes, I just posted another page to the website with an easy soap recipe. I’ll be making some more — this time with glycerine base and shea butter for our guests this weekend. These soaps don’t have to cure for 3-6 weeks like the bars I made on Christmas Eve.

This is all that remains of the Black Forest cake I made for Christmas. We had a great day with our friends: Heather, Connie, Fred, and Scott. Sure was nice to win that hockey game!
