Oh, the Places You’ll Go

In a few days, I’ll be making my way to the bustling city north of of us, Atlanta, for a doctor’s appointment. Trips to the city are a big deal around our house. We plan them as though we were going to ride a horse or take a train there instead of hopping in our car. Most people in our area think nothing of a quick trip to town or to Atlanta for weekend entertainment, shopping, or sightseeing but as simple living folks, we have trained ourselves to think about such things in a very different light. Pay-Off Days

February in Georgia is particularly miraculous thanks to an enormous number of pay-off days: days when you are paid in full for frozen nose hairs, dead car batteries, and chilblains. These are the days when a sweatshirt and jeans is all that is needed to enjoy a day in the sunshine. The jonquils are up, birds are chirping like mad, and fish are jumping.
