Something tells me that even Pat Benatar (that goddess of rock), has suffered the dreaded “mid-chew” photo. The “mid-chew” photo is also closely associated with the “mid-sneeze,” “about to cough,” or “squinting into the sunlight” shot. If you can’t relate to seeing the two-dimensional version of yourself looking as though you are barreling down the tallest hill of a roller coaster even though you are clearly (in the photo anyway) seated on your aunt’s couch… then chances are that you are the person behind the camera who takes those horrible photos. An Old Fashioned Sewing Party

After suffering many years on the back-burner of hobbies, sewing is finally more than an irregular blip on the radar. This is in part because I have this nifty new sewing room with L-shape tables but also because my friends have started coming around to sew with me. My guests used to suffer my infamous Old-Fashioned Folding Parties in which I forced then to help fold my clean clothing while chatting. It’s amazing I still have friends. Thank goodness for goodness they stuck by me… because I now throw Old-Fashioned Sewing Parties instead. They are WAY more cool. Read more

And there he stood, with stained beard and mischievous eyes while autumn breezes sent dry leaves zig-zagging across the cloudless Georgian sky. Now, if we could just get our new Saanen buck loaded up and headed back to our own small corner of Harris County.
