Adoption
From the moment that Josh and I first met, we talked about adopting children — perhaps not because we envisioned ourselves incapable of giving birth to biological children but because we realized the need for adoptive parents. We felt strongly that we were not only meant to be together but that we were meant to parent together.
Once we began to share our dreams and plans for adoption, we were delighted to discover a whole network of supportive and loving people who offered prayer, inspiration, testimonials, and more. In some way, each of these wonderful loving souls had been touched by adoption. Some were birth mothers, others adoptive parents (some who completed adoptions and others who suffered failed adoptions), and adults who were adopted as children. Their stories filled us with hope and as we read their words through tear-filled eyes –suddenly we knew a different kind of blessing.
We are so very blessed to walk this path surrounded by such amazing love. How can we begin to thank you? How can we begin to express what a difference you have made in our lives?
So often we (as bloggers and blog-readers) get caught up in the numbers: how many visitors? comments? comments responded to? emails received? emails responded to? We are so caught up that we forget the gift of friendship and the bonds that form in the process of sharing our lives with each other. In a post a while back, I wrote: “We need a witness to the events in our lives. The tears, romance, love, laughter, and loss… all of it, every single moment — even the ones we wish that we could forget. This person or pet is the constant reminder that your life did not pass unnoticed, that you and your faults are loved, and who enriches your life with simple abundance.” As I wrote this post, I couldn’t help but think back on those words and realize that in less than a year — you, my reader friends, became much-needed witnesses. Your presence has incalculably enriched our lives with simple abundance.
Thank you.
So, I put together our posts on adoption so that you can read them right through one by one. Perhaps you have been following from the very beginning or maybe you have just joined us. Either way, I am inexpressibly glad that you are here and part of our family.
Lots of zany mad love, Joshua and Lacy Razor
