Sweet Valley High Chicks

Remember our little nudists? The Buff Orpington twins have blossomed into Teen Magazine reading young ladies who have permanent seats at the popular table. Everyone loves twins, but buxom blondes with piercing golden eyes and legs that go on forever — well, it is little wonder that they have such a following.
With all the confidence of couture models and the athletic prowess of the Lakers Cheerleaders (though considerably more class), one could easily picture these gals as the famed California-dwelling Sweet Valley High Twins. Tell me you remember the Sweet Valley High series and secretly wanted to wake up as Jessica or Elizabeth Wakefield. Maybe you still do. Or, for all the poor guys forced to read this site who are feeling uncomfortable about now: perhaps you just always wanted to date them. Secretly, of course. Jessica and Elizabeth — not the Buff Orpingtons.
Confession: I still can’t tell them apart. Does that make me a bad mom?
The comment box is below the way-cool advertisement.
Please leave us a comment. We love reading them and feel that they are the best part of the site. Thank you!

I’m an old lady who has no clue about the Sweet Valley High series.
Are your chickens free-range? I can’t let mine free-range (I really wish I could) I’m afraid they wouldn’t come home to lay and I’d have eggs all up in the woods. I just don’t like the idea of Esther (our dog) knowing where they are and eating them, which has happened in the past. You know what they say, you can’t stop a dog from sucking eggs once they’ve gotten a taste.
Oh yes! Jessica and Elizabeth…how I remember their many adventures. No, you’re not a bad mom…the girls do it on purpose to confuse you. LOL!
Hi Laurie! Yes, our chickens free range. They return to their coop to lay their eggs. Thankfully, we’ve never had any troubles with them nesting anywhere else and we credit our good fortune with the use of wooden eggs in the nests. Of course, I’m told that you can use all sorts of things in the nests from golf balls to fake plastic Easter eggs.
Thank you for your comment!
Blessings!

Lacy: I would say your not a bad Mother but it sounds like you need to sit those two down and explain your confusion. You know the children deserve to know you confusion at this time.
Maybe you need to put a little ribbon on them to tell the difference between the two.
Yes, why don’t you put a kind of bracelet around their ankles ;-P…
Cheers and have a great day,
Rosa
Barbie — We must be cosmic twins… I LOVED the Sweet Valley High novels! And the Boxcar Children and… and….
Boy, they were awesome.
paint their nails. then you could tell them apart.
have you had any problems with cats? we have a lot out here (like between 20 and 30. most of them just roam around. that and well, dogs. i don’t have any, but my brother in law does. any tips on how to keep the girls safe?
oh, and when do roosters start to crow? i think we have about, well, 4 or 5. maybe more. and only 16 all together. 8 are about 2 months old…the other 8 are about a month.
i’d ask someone around here, but they all think i’m crazy for even considering letting the chickens out to range.
thanks lacy!

Beautiful chicks! I wish I was as popular as them!
Hey Amy!
Roosters crow whenever they feel like it — that whole crowing in the morning thing — LIES!
Blessings!

Love the picture of the twin. They are beauties. Have they started laying yet? What color eggs?
Hey looks aren’t everything - do they have good personalities and hygiene? They are lovely fluffy girls -
How about some nail polish to make them feel like real Sweet Valley High chicks!!! One can be a bright pink the other a deep purple. Nothing sparkly or else they were peck on their nails.
Hey…you could tie a different colored bandana around their necks..to identify them…just a thought……..he he!
You do love your Chickens, Lacy and I think they know it!
~Hugs~

I love the twins, can’t wait to see them in person on Saturday. I am looking forward to the animal antics at the farm!
Love the chicks. Love Buffy. And of course I wanted to be one of the Sweet Valley twins!!!
LOL Lacy - no, it doesn’t make you a bad mom just because you can’t tell the twins apart. Lots of moms with twins have the same problem - that’s why they dress them in different clothes.
I wanted to drop by and wish you a great day and a great weekend, sweetness. I’ve been pretty busy with some stuff that’s been going on, and I haven’t had a chance to visit. But I’m trying to catch up, now…

Slapping my knee…as if YOU could be a bad Mom to ANYTHING, EVER! Seriously.
I can’t tell ours apart either, but C can. Lovely update photos.
Okay Lacy, I’ve turned, all twenty-five, of my chickens loose! I hope they come home to roost!
