Get Your Goat

Well, we got ‘em. Boy, are they ever fun! Within a few moments of bringing them home, it was clear that we’d provided entertainment suitable for highly intelligent and very curious goats.
They popped out of the trailer and began exploring right away.
Apple (the tan doe): “What is this contraption and why on earth is it chirping?”
Okay, this picture actually has nothing to do with the goats but I thought it was totally adorable. The chicks loved watching the goats and spent hours racing around their house to get the best view: the goatside view.
The girls made quick work of any low-hanging branches. These rigorous calisthenics are usually reserved for Olympic gymnasts.
More to come! We’re still working on fencing projects and can’t seem to justify being indoors while the sun is shining. Hope everyone had a safe Fourth of July weekend!
The comment box is below the way-cool advertisement.
Please leave us a comment. We love reading them and feel that they are the best part of the site. Thank you!

Aaaaaaw! So cute.
Good luck with fencing!!!! We had a goat- Melissa- that could jump 10 feet!!!!! we couldn’t keep her in for anything. goats are something else. we had one get in the telephone man’s van. another got in the house and jumped on top of the washer. be prepared for antics galore!!! hahaha!!!!
Hi, Lacy! How fun! We recently got into milking goats, about 2 months ago! It has been so fun and I hear ya on all the projects. It is hard to be “all done” before you get them! We are working as we go. I like your trailer and your goats are beautiful. I’m happy for you!
the goats look awesome, we had 2 when i was growing up on our farm and they were very entertaining! hope you guys have enjoyed the time josh has had off from work!
Awesome! I am sure that you’ll have a blast! Built-in garbage disposals? Cool!
aren’t they adorable! i love goats.
Oh my heavenly days. Chicks and goats in the same post. How good can life get? Have fun!
I’m already in love with them! When will you be making cheese ;-P?
Cheers,
Rosa
Very cute. I won’t let C know. She will say, “We should get goats”. We got her horse and C is at the farm and I am chasing the horse from the yet unfinished fence. I don’t think we need more animals yet.
Welcome to an awesome adventure!!! I have enjoyed it so much these last 5 or so years!! Goats!
Hey Lacy! I love goats. It’s so exciting to see your new one’s. What breed are they? Did you get any that you can milk?
Best wishes with them.
Lucy
They are soooooooo cute! They will entertain you as much as you are entertaining them.
You’ve got some very pretty girls there. Now, if you could send some of the goat cheese my way I’d be obliged.
You’ve got some mighty pretty goats there, ma’am.
Aren’t they adorable!!!! Goodness, some goats can look so, I dunno, “goaty”. Yours look like graceful deer. Now you’ve got to promise to make some goat’s milk soap and sell it on your blog so I can buy some!!
Hugs, and YAY!

aaaaah,..the goats are adorable, Lacy! Beautiful pictures too!
Lovely chicks too!
They are just as pretty as I remember. Now ya’ll gotta finish that fence, Will and I have been aching to come out for a visit.
Wow, you sure have a full farm now. What else do you plan on getting?
1. Cheese made from goat’s milk is my FAVORITE!
2. I have joined a quilting club! So far I’ve only made a candle mat but I must tell you… I’m very proud of it! Especially since that was my first time using a sewing machine…and hand sewing in general.
I’m very excited for you about your goats, any new animals is always cause for excitement!
Hi Josh and Lacy,
It means a lot to us to know that Elrond went to a good home with loving owners. We hope the transition went well. You will see his personality come out as soon as the romantic season is over! He loves people.
Your website is great! Lacy, you are truly a talented writer with a special passion for nature and all God’s creatures. Your knack for photography is also evident. We will stay in touch to watch you work toward your dreams for 300 acre farm . . . step by step! Best of luck!
