Apron Strings, Gift Angels, and Pretty Things

January 23, 2008|Comments (none)

Home projects continue with a set of aprons using fabric from Tia Julie and the Gift Angel. My goal is to have them done in time for National Wear Your Apron Day. Here is one side of two aprons (they will be reversible):

And the baskets of fabric:

The days have run together since everyone left. I did make homemade yogurt using the crock pot with Amanda (who brought me a super storage bin for my bulk flour or sugar). We had a great time! I also went to the doctor and have contacts again! Yippee! While the hair is still dreadful — at least I can see where I’m going!

I also wanted to show you a really great idea for a homemade incubator.

Thank you! Your blog is beautiful, I love it!

You can make yogurt with a crock pot? If I had known that I wouldn’t have spent the money on a yogurt maker… oh but I do like the little glass jars that came with it.

It is very nice to meet you, I can see I am going to spend a lot of time reading here. May I add you to my friends list?

You sew too. You are so multi-talented. I admire that. I love sewing, but haven’t done much the past couple of years. I hope you’ll post a picture of your finished apron.

I’m going to go check out the links you posted. I never heard of ‘National wear your apron day’ it sounds like good fun.

Congratulations on getting your contacts. Not being able to see clearly is so debilitating. Glasses and contacts are really wonderful life enhancing inventions. Cool!

Hope you have a terrific Thursday!

First off…your chickens are BEAUTIFUL! I love the names too. Be sure to post pictures of them from time to time. :) I like your apron too. I want to see the finished product! Can I add you to my friends list? Have a great day!

Hello all! Thank you for writing such encouraging and thoughtful notes. I continue to be amazed by this wonderful blogging family! Yes, yogurt can be made in a crock pot (or the oven). The recipe is on my website if you want to try it. I promise to post pictures of the finished product (aprons). I’m working on five of them right now. I have them all cut out and pinned. I just need to sew them up. The very best to all of you! Thank you again. You made my day! :) :) Pictures of the chickens on the way!

    Lacy,
You continually amaze me. The aprons are a fabulous idea. I love all of the extra “stuff” you put into your BLOGS. The pictures, links, commercials, video clips, etc. God really blessed our family when Joshua married you!

Hi Tia Julie! Thank you! I feel very blessed to be married to Joshua. He is such an inspiring individual. He never shys away from a project because it might involve too much work or fails to compliment me on meals. Trust me, I’m the lucky one!

Oh, I missed Apron Day. Oh well, I do wear them sometimes. It is usually too hot in the summer for me to wear them here.
