Peach Pecan Praline Frozen Yogurt, Cran-Apple Jam, & Orange Cranberry Vinegar

A GREAT gift from my Aunt Nancy and Uncle Paul: our very own ice cream maker! I love its classic design and electric motor! We made frozen yogurt (using my homemade Yogurt), frozen peaches, and homemade pecan pralines. Here’s a picture of the pralines:
A little while ago, I purchased a 3 Lb bag of whole cranberries and then couldn’t decide what to do with them. Nancy and I decided to can them up in some manner. We pulled out various canning books but didn’t have all the ingredients. We opted to make our own thing. Thus: cran-apple jam was born. Now we certainly aren’t claiming to be the first to make the stuff but we did make it without a recipe to follow. Here it is:
And with the leftover cranberry juice, we made orange cranberry vinegar:
Aunt Nancy brought frozen wineberries and black raspberries along and they are now fully defrosted. Tomorrow, we’ll can them up and put my quilt on the frame. I’ve decided on a star pattern for the quilt. Pictures soon — promise!

Lacy and Nancy,
Now you need to clue us in on the orange cranberry vinegar, how will you use it? On the quilt, that reminded me of our mission trip to the Sioux (Lakota) Indian Reservation. The Lakota Indians use a lot of star patterns in their quilting. Amber and I are looking forward to our visit tomorrow.
Wow, you two have been very busy. The frozen yogurt sounds yummy. The ice cream maker looks exactly like the one my grandmother used to have minus the electric motor of course. I have many fond memories of taking turns with my brothers hand cranking her machine for the most delicious ice cream on earth. Then I read about cran-apple jam and that sends me right back to the same grandmothers house. She used to make a cran-apple jelly that was superb and I bet this jam is just as good.
Hi Julie! We can’t wait to see you and Amber! I’m glad that you liked the ice cream maker — you have excellent taste! Wait until you try the frozen yogurt!! The orange-cranberry vinegar is for salad dressings and whatnot. It’s tasty stuff!
It’s -9F -23C here not even counting the wind chill.
I would love to try all of this. Never used an ice cream maker. How I would love the apple cran jam. Love this blog! Black raspberries - I freeze raspberries and eat them on my breakfast cereal year around.
I love your journal, it’s a visual feast for the eyes. I sure wish I had the gift to cook up such yummy things and then get such clear & tantalizing pictures of them. Wonderful!
Thanks for sharing these tempting taste of your kitchen.
Hope you have a fabulous rest of the weekend!
Dee- Thank you for your comments! I look forward to reading them each time I post!
Connie– I have pulled out some black raspberries (now in my freezer) for you to have for your breakfast cereal. Keep warm! We have cran-apple jam for you, too!
We are glad we just tried the peach-wineberry jam and it was a blast!!
Cannot wait to try the wineberry jelly, Tia Julie keeps telling me it’s superbbbbbbb.
She also loved the salad dressing that you made out of orange-cranberry vinegar. You guys are extremely creative; you two rock!!!
P.S. I’ve also heard that the frozen yogurt was excellent; thanks to Uncle Paul and Aunt Nancy for your gift of an Ice Cream Machine wow!!; and…. there was something about blackberry smoothies?
Hello Tio Raul! I am so glad that you liked the peach-wineberry jam! Are you familiar with wineberries? They are basically wild raspberries only a little more tart. I’m thrilled to hear that the food was a success. Next time you come here to visit we’ll make the frozen yogurt of your choice! Thank you for commenting! Josh and sit down and read them together. :):)
