MAX Out Your Heart

April 21, 2008|Comments (11)

Yesterday, my blogging hero, Rhonda Jean of Down to Earth wrote about our journey into adoption and asked for her readers (who are every bit as devoted to her as I am) to offer us words of encouragement. I didn’t even know that she had done it because I read her blog before I go to bed each night. Her blog is a wonderful way to end the day — soothing words, lovely pictures, and the warmth that is Rhonda Jean.

Since that post, I have enjoyed contact with some of the most wonderful people. Jacky of JACKet Creative Mess sent me a lovely note and this gorgeous painting entitled MAX Out Your Heart. She wanted to remind people to fill their hearts to overflowing (like credit card debt at Christmas time). Let me tell you, I look at that painting and my heart is filled with hope and love for our children — wherever they might be.

I also got a personal and very informative email from Katherine, who made my morning. I opened my Outlook and read each word twice. We have more in common than you might think, my friend. Your advice and wisdom is timely and welcomed. I can not thank you enough.

Dawn (Colours of Dawn), Leah (Sugar & Spice), Holly (The Holly Tree), Jayedee (Life in the Lost World) and Michelle (Applie’s Place) wrote me such thoughtful and personal notes. Thank you!

So, in light of the painting and spreading the love of our MAXED-OUT hearts… let’s show some love around. Please stop in to visit my pal, Robin, who is charged to get into shape and take off some weight (I hear you loud and clear, Robin! Me too!). Share a little bit of love at her site today and be her cheering section. Marathoners have their friends stand at certain points along the course to throw water and towels at them (and to shout things like, “You rock like KISS!!”) so lets be that team for Robin today.

Do you have anyone that needs some extra words of encouragement? Post their names below and we’ll all focus our prayers, thoughts, and positive energies their way!

    And the Lord said:
Love one another as I have loved you. John 15:12
Love is kind. 1 Corinthians 13:4
And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is Love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

My Love to Lacy, my nephew Joshua, and all of their blogging friends today, tomorrow, and………..

Lacy and Joshua, My prayers are with your future child(ren) daily as God will reveal them at the exact right time!

Awwwww! You are so sweet! Thank you, Lacy.
We bought the ingredients for the Hot Chicken Salad and will be making it this week. I am hoping tomorrow, we shall see. We worked for 4½ hours on cleaning out a storage shed today! That was hard work. I still jogged my 6 minutes and did my 60 push ups and 30 crunches as well. Weehooo! (I am going to add 1 minute to my jogging once per week)

I am THRILLED to share this journey along with you in adopting a child. How exciting! I look forward to reading about all the exciting steps along the way. If you are interested, I would share my story with you (perhaps blog it?). I am a Birth Mom. I have been wanting to make a page on my blog for a long time with that. Perhaps in the next few weeks I will. :D
    BIG hugs, Robin

I don’t know your story (I need some time to read through some past blog entries!!) but prayers are with you. I have a friend who went through a Vietnamese adoption. She has a bucketload of information. She is one of the most knowledgeable people I know when it concerns adoptions. Her website is http://steppingonlegos.com/

God has just the perfect children for you! All in His timing!

So glad my jumbled words were of some encouragement.
You know, I remember our adoption attorney looking across the table at us and saying, “Congratulations… you’re going to be parents! Adoption has a 100% success rate!!” and a wave of relief and joy and excitement and peace flooded over my soul. I wonder what feelings your child will have when he/she hears the words, “Congratulations, honey! You have a Mommy and a Daddy!” goosebumps….
    Gods ways are perfect.
So excited for you two!! You’ll make fabulous parents, I’m sure of it!

That is very sweet of you, Lacy. :)

MY prayers are for you, sweet friend. for HIS perfect peace to surround you as you await the arrival of your little one(s)

and yes, i think you could do bees. just let josh “get into the bees” while you stand back and deal with their bounty. that’s what i’ve had to promise danny……..for now. a hive or two at the back of your property will keep you WELL supplied with honey for your own use and bountiful gifts for others. your garden will produce like nobody’s business and everyone will ooooooh and ahhhhhhhhh over your beeswax candles.

Hi there, thanks for the link. I so admire people who extend their heart to others and there are so many capacities in which to do this. I definitely admire those who make the life long commitment to change the life of a child through adoption. I just read Jayedee’s comment. Did I mention I am the tour guide at our honey packaging plant/bee supply warehouse/wax processing company. I am a fount of information.
